Bios Defender 510 and Defender 520 are the next generation of the DryCal® DC-Lite and DryCal® DC-2 Calibrators. Everything you trusted about Bios DryCal® technology in the DC-Lite and DC-2 instruments is available in the Defender 510/520 calibrators that make it easier than ever to calibrate air sampling pumps. The BIOS Defender is a true primary flow meter design that offers low cost, light weight and ultra-compact size, incorporating the highly-regarded DryCal technology. Building on the patented DryCal near-frictionless piston technology, the Defender 500 series incorporates features to make it immune to flow source pulsation without the need for in-line dampers.

The Defender provides users with a primary flow standard for industrial hygiene, environmental and laboratory applications. It fits easily into a slim briefcase for convenient transport and, as with all DryCal technology flow calibrators; it eliminates the need for messy soap film solutions.

Like all Bios calibrators, the Defender is easy to use.  Turn it on. Connect it to a sampling pump. Start taking readings. It’s as simple as that. Calibrations within a minute and no messy soap bubble solutions.

The Defender 510 or 520 can take hands-free continuous readings while quickly and accurately setting the flow rate on air sampling pumps. The Defender 510/520 connects to any PC and pre- and post-calibration data can be downloaded with the included Integrator 110 with the Optimizer Collect Light software. The Defender 520 also captures ambient temperature and pressure conditions during the calibration process without the need for additional instrumentation.

Software:

• The Integrator 110 and Optimizer Collect Light software is bundled with the Defender with an integrated serial PC interface for easy transfer of flow data to a text file, with automatic recording and graphing of flow measurements.
• The upgrade to the Bios Optimizer Collect Full version allows the user to not only capture, but secure, organize, search and present data. It stores the records in a small but secure SQL database. These records can also be easily opened in a variety of off-the-shelf database applications, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
