Our President:

Ms. Deborah J. Brandt earned her Masters at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida in 1976, and has worked on both sides of the environmental industry, both as an urban/environmental planner as well as a sales representative and manager for environmental product lines. She worked for a number of years as an environmental and development planner in cities such as Gainesville, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia as well as a senior staff member with regional planning councils and private consultants. Since the early 1980’s she has worked with rep organizations until founding Brandt Instruments, Inc. in 1988. Her work from the 80's has included IAQ & HVAC surveys/consulting as well as IAQ presentations and seminars. With this insight, she is able to help her clients meet their goals and improve their productivity.

Ms. Brandt is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and is a past president of the local New Orleans Chapter of ASHRAE 1997-1998. She is also a member of American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the local Deep South Chapter of AIHA.

Owing to budget cuts, LSU discontinued the EPA Lead-Based Paint certification program at the end of 2009. In order to satisfy the ongoing demand for quality training, LSU turned over all the lead training responsibilities to Deborah Brandt, who has been their primary instructor for the lead courses since 1994. She continues to teach as an instructor for the EPA Lead Paint.Certification classes.

Besides teaching the lead certification classes, she has also taught Indoor Air Qualty courses and Mold courses such as the American IAQ Council: certification training class for "CMRS" - Certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor, as well as numerous other environmental classes.

Ms. Brandt additionally holds numerous certifications including:

  • Louisiana DEQ Certification for: Lead Inspector, Lead Risk Assessor, Lead Abatement Supervisor, Lead Project Designer and Lead Training Instructor for all the disciplines including Lead Worker.

  • American Council for Accredited Certification: certification for "CMRS" - Certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor and "CMC" - Certified Microbial Consultant.
