Specifications
& Programmable Features Configurations
Calibration
Materials Accessories Sensors
The PhD
Ultra is designed
to be
the heart and soul of
your record
keeping program
- Record
keeping is automatic: The PhD Ultra automatically
remembers (logs) gas readings, turn-on/turn-off times, temperature,
battery condition, calibration dates, types of sensors currently
installed, sensor serial numbers, warranty expiration, service
due dates, current alarm settings and more.
- Datalogging
"transparent": It is not necessary to do anything
special to begin logging data. Simply turning on the instrument
causes it to begin recording. Although it is not necessary to
make use of the information being stored, it is there in the
event it is needed.
- Gas
Detector and Database Software: Biosystems' "Datalink"
Gas Detector and Database Software allows for two-way communication
between your PhD Ultra and an MS DOSTM personal computer.
- One
button is all it takes: Biosystems' Datalink software
has been designed to make programming, downloading, and data
analysis as easy as pushing a button. The software also allows
you to customize your instrument by "filling out" an electronic
form right on your computer screen.
|
- Name
and location ID: You can even add the name of the
PhD Ultra user and the location where the monitoring occurred
by using built-in push-buttons to scroll through a list and
make a selection.
- Analyze
and organize your monitoring records: Biosystems'
Datalink software allows both direct examination of recorded
data as well as easy export to other data management programs.
Besides examining data from specific sessions in the form of
quick summaries, graphs or tables, previously down-loaded records
may be searched by date, exceedence values, location, user name,
sensor type, as well as many other "sorting" parameters.
- Review
your data right on the spot: You don't need a computer
to review your data. Session data can be displayed directly
on the instrument LCD, or downloaded straight to a serial printer.
- Smart
sensor data: Review information directly from the
sensor EEPROMs to verify sensor serial numbers, warranty expiration
dates, and the 8 most recent zero and span calibration dates;
all on a sensor-specific basis!
- Sophistication
without complication: For all the sophistication
of the PhD Ultra, the bottom line is still ease of use. Making
use of these powerful software and database tools is as simple
as using your computer "mouse" to pick your choice from the
pull-down menu of options.
|
Powerful Tools That Are
Easy To Use
Comprehensive
reports with the push of a button:
Recorded information may
be used for a variety of purposes. Data may be displayed and reviewed
in detail through the computer monitor screen, or used to automatically
generate and print reports, tables and graphs of time history exposure
data. It is also possible to export records to other software applications
in the form of ASCII, Lotus compatible, or "comma delimited" database
files. Another option is to simply retain downloaded records of
your gas detection monitoring program for future use. |

10 feet of sample tubing. The sample draw adaptor also serves
as the calibration adaptor used to introduce test gas to the sensors.
Continuous
Sample Pump:
An optional slip-on
UL®, CSA Classified sample draw pump is available
for situations requiring continuous hands-free remote sampling.
The sample pump draws power directly from the PhD Ultra battery.
The pump automatically operates whenever the instrument is turned
on. The PhD Ultra microprocessor directly monitors the pump for
proper operation. The pump contains a unique pressure sensor which
detects water or other fluids being sucked into the hose, and
immediately shuts off the pump in order to prevent damage.
Compact
size; rugged design:
The PhD Ultra is housed
in a super-rugged steel-filled polycarbonate case designed to
stand up to the most demanding environments. The completely sealed
water-resistant case is protected against dust and liquid intrusion
and has been designed to minimize the effects of radio frequency
interference. Individual LED alarm lights for each gas being measured
and an automatic backlight that turns on in dim light means that
the PhD Ultra is always convenient to use; even in the dark!
