The Biosystems Toxi Vision IR detectors for carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) from Sperian Instruments are single gas detectors which use nondispersive infrared (NDIR) sensors for gas detection. The auto ranging CO2 IR sensor can detect carbon dioxide levels from as low as 10 ppm up to 5% (50,000 ppm) by volume. The Toxi Vision IR for methane can be configured to display readings from 1 to 100% LEL or 0 to 5% methane.

The Toxi Vision IR meters display real-time gas readings and maximum values, and have customizable alarms for high levels of carbon dioxide or methane. The CO2 meter offers optional STEL and TWA readings.

The Toxi Vision IR meters are available in either Alkaline or NiMH rechargeable versions.  Both versions include an Event Logger as standard equipment.  The NiMH rechargeable version includes a black-box data recorder, which can be upgraded to a full-featured datalogger at any time after purchase.
