For analyzing lead in toys, RMD has the award winning LeadTracer-RoHS™ instrument. More & more children's toys are being recalled, banned and pulled from shelves making the utility of a lead detection device like the LeadTracer-RoHS™ an important tool for the toy industry to ensure that their products are safe.

The LeadTracer-RoHS™ system is a major innovation and advancement of the XRF analysis technology, and is the only XRF system designed specifically for the toy industry to provide fast, accurate and portable screening of lead in toys, costume jewelry, and other consumer products as well as meeting all RoHS and lead-free directives.

The LeadTracer-RoHS™ XRF system has a unique approach, rather than simply carrying out a surface analysis like the x-ray tube XRF, the LeadTracer-RoHS™ system analyses the entire body of the potential lead-rich components or toy and in a short period of time. This speeds up the screening requirements and improves the overall throughput of the quality control process. The LeadTracer-RoHS™ ' ability to analyze the entire energy spectrum eliminates the possibility of false-negative indications in components that otherwise would have found their way into the manufacturing process.

This analyzer tool is capable of quickly and accurately providing the toy industry to identify lead levels of 600 ppm (and lower) as established by the CPSC.

RoHS directives restricting the use of certain substances in toy manufacturing have created numerous challenges in both the screening and implementation process. LeadTracer-RoHS' innovative approach with enhanced detection capabilities provides the screening tool that the industry needs to meet the numerous RoHS directive challenges

The LeadTracer-RoHS XRF system now comes with a sample preparation stand developed with the needs of the end user in mind. The stand has been ergonomically designed for optimum ease-of-use and accuracy when testing a wide variety of electronic products and toys and is equipped with RMD Instruments exclusive "quick disconnect" grip to enable users to operate the handheld, portable LeadTracer-RoHS as a benchtop unit.
